Goals for 2013

I love starting off the new year with a list of goals to accomplish within the next 365 days. Barb from the blog Second Chance to Dream  shared a wonderful goal sheet that I was able to download and use to help me organize my thoughts. If you haven't made your goals for the year, I encourage you to check out Barb's printable.

So for 2013:

Our Family Goals  - We will continue our monthly family fun days, Jim & I will be planning for more date nights and we will also be putting together a list of projects we want to complete around the house.

Spiritual Goals - Since this is the Year of Faith the number of resource available for Catholics to study the faith is abundant so I'm going to take advantage of them and choose a topic each month and make it my focus of study and practice. I would also like to attend a retreat during the year that I'm not in charge of or helping out in anyway.

Personal Goals - Knitting - I began knitting at the end of 2012 and would like to improve my craft during this year and move beyond scarves and cup sleeves.
On a side note Jacob has made a personal goal of buying 10 pairs of Jordans this year. I'm pretty sure he is planning to use our money so we will see how this goal goes. One day I promise to blog about his shoe obsession.

Work Goals - Learn Spanish - this will be so helpful in my job. Even though all the teens I work with speak English, their parents don't so I'm always in need of a translator when I lead a workshop or a meeting. I'm looking into the Rosetta Stone program, so far it seems to be the best one out there.

Blogging goals - I would like to put together a blogging schedule and then stick to it. I'm also planning a whole blog redesign this year.

I'm excited to see how well I do in accomplishing all of these. I'll be honest, as much as I love making goals for myself I learned along time ago (of course the hard way) to not let your goals control you, only God is in control and if he chooses to put my focus elsewhere then so be it. In any case I think this is going to be a great year and I'm looking forward to sharing it with all of you.

What are your goals for 2013?

Until next time,
Karri

  1. I like the way you've broken your goals into the different aspects of your life. Seems to make it much more manageable, meaning more likely to succeed. Good luck!
